Tauplitz is located in the heart of Austria's Ausseerland - Salzkammergut region and, at 1,650 m, is the highest lake plateau in Central Europe.
The 6 mountain lakes, from the small Märchensee to the large Steirersee, are crystal clear and of drinking water quality. The area is known as a huge alpine garden.
The alpine flora captivates with its intoxicating colours and rare forms, whether spring, summer, autumn - daphne, globeflower, gentian, alpine bush - to name just a few beauties.
But this alp is not only a visual delight, it is also up to any challenge - from alpine walks with prams or dogs to the "Gamsblick" via ferrata.
