The Fortress Museum is located in the historical rooms on the high floor of the Hohensalzburg Fortress.
It offers a view of distant times in the history of the fortress and everyday life at the castle. Visitors can view ceramics, remains of walls, Roman coins, a medieval heating system or Romanesque arcades. Weapons, armour, instruments of torture and a gold treasure are also part of the exhibition. You can also see the furnished castle kitchen and the historical military musical instruments.
