Accessible from Kleinarl and Wagrain, this beautiful alpine hut is situated at 1,506 m above sea level in a fantastic sunny location amidst the magnificent mountain scenery of the province of Salzburg. Guests enjoy homemade organic dishes such as homemade bread, butter and cheese as well as the bacon, sausage and homemade schnapps from the farm. The rustic alpine hut also offers an open fireplace and a cosy parlour with a tiled stove. Various animals such as cows, young cattle, horses and sheep romp around on the pasture. Marmots can also be observed above the hut. The ascent to the mountain pastures takes place in mid-June and the descent from the mountain pastures in mid-September. Various hiking trails can be easily reached from here: Hike to the Kleinarler Hut or the Oberwandalm or climb peaks such as Penkkopf, Gründegg or Gabel (Kitzstein).

If only we could preserve the current weather for a few days! But one of the oldest proverbs says panta rhei (everything is in a state of flux), and this particularly applies to the weather in Central Europe! After the sunshine of yesterday, the weather will deteriorate again. The cloud will gradually thicken and snow showers will arrive by evening.
